The Jodi L. Barber High School Equivalency Scholarship
Founded in 2024, the Jodi L. Barber High School Equivalency Scholarship was inspired by the tireless efforts of a strong and determined woman to pursue her academic goals. The mission of this scholarship is to support students with high school equivalency degrees. First year college students (0 transfer credits) are encouraged to apply.
A Message from the Donor:
There’s so much I want to say about my mother but truly can’t find the words. One word that comes to mind is inspirational. As I grow older and reflect on my life, I find my admiration and appreciation for my mother grows. In 1992 my mother received her GED. Since then, she has never stopped working towards her academic goals. In 2020 she earned her license in medical billing and is scheduled to graduate in 2025 with a degree in accounting. This scholarship is inspired by her perseverance to reach her academic goals. She represents many of the students at Wake Tech. It is our hope that through the support of this scholarship, students can persevere to reach their academic goals, too.
Respectfully,
Elizabeth Calvente, MS
