Ball-Aspnes Future Teachers Excellence Award

This endowment, established in 2022 by Cynthia Ball and David Aspnes, will create a permanent fund for incoming WTCC students who are focusing on a career in teaching by pursuing either the Associate in Arts in Teacher Preparation or Associate in Science in Teacher Preparation (STEM focus.) Should there ever be fewer qualified students pursuing a teaching career in any given year, secondary preference shall be for Associate Degree in Nursing. The donors wish to address the shortage of teachers and nurses in NC by enhancing the pipelines for these critical professions in partnership with WTCC. Initially the awards will be $2,000 annually, and the number and/or size of awards will grow with future donations/planned gift.
