Established in 2017 by Delta Dental to assist high achieving students pursuing a degree in Dental Hygiene at Wake Technical Community College. Preference given to students who have an interest in Community Dentistry/Public Health.

Established by Joseph Schmelzeis to honor his wife, Dorothy, a long time member of the Cary Woman’s Club. This scholarship will provide financial support to deserving students at Wake Tech who have completed their GED , are enrolled for at least 9 credit hours, and are residents of Cary, NC.

Established in 2015 by Dr. C. Neill McLeod, who spent more than 30 years working in the North Carolina Community College System and holds the distinction of being the state’s first female community college president, associate executive vice president and vice president. She retired as Senior Vice President for Student Services at Wake Tech in 2005.

Established in honor of Dr. Grover Cox, a beloved community physician and his wife Annie Cox, this scholarship reflects their shared belief that access to healthcare begins with access to education. Throughout his career he served not only as a doctor, but as a trusted presence in the community he deeply cared about. Together, they were passionate about passing the torch to aspiring healthcare professionals and ensuring the next generation could carry forward a legacy of compassionate care.

Established in 2022, this merit-based scholarship is awarded to high performing students enrolled in a health science associate degree program at Wake Tech. Through this gift, Dr. Hazlehurst has made a lasting investment in the next generation of health science leaders and a contribution to the future well-being of our community.

Dr. Nilima Bhirud and Dr. Ravi Bhirud, who both grew up in India, understand first hand the life-changing impact of educational opportunity. Without the financial means to fund medical school, they each relied on scholarships to pursue their dreams – an experience that helped them know the power of education to create upward mobility. Through this scholarship, they hope to provide others with the same opportunity and inspire recipients to one day pay it forward, extending that impact to future generations.

This scholarship, funded by Duke Raleigh Hospital, will create scholarships for students in the Health Sciences Program studying EMS , Medical Lab Technology, Radiography and Pharmacy Technology. Students will be selected by the Health Sciences scholarship committee who will notify the Foundation staff.

Established by family and friends of Wake Tech alum, Edward J. Krynicki, who died unexpectedly in April 2012. Edward had a passion for food and was an accomplished executive chef in Cary, NC. His family wishes to honor his memory by helping aspiring chefs who share in his passion. This scholarship will be awarded to a serious student in the second year of the Culinary Arts degree program at Wake Tech.

Established by Knowles Parker, a former faculty member at Wake Technical Community College, to fund a merit scholarship for a full-time second-year student pursuing a degree in business administration or human resource management program.
