The William Gaston Allen Scholarship provides scholarships for deserving students who have demonstrated strong commitment to enhance their personal and leadership potential. Mr. Allen had a strong desire to help students in Wake, Brunswick, and Wayne counties.

Established in 2025, the Will and Summer Smith Family Scholarship will support students pursuing Early Childhood Education degrees at Wake Tech. They have chosen to do this because education is important to the Smith family. Will Smith’s mother taught school while raising five children, and his youngest brother teaches in Virginia. This scholarship endowment is intended to support people in the community who are positioned to contribute and lead, and is in line with the Smith family principles of honesty, gratitude, service, progression, and respect.

The WSP Thrive Award will be available for students in the Associate of Science program with a 3.0 GPA or higher. The Associate in Science (AS) degree provides a solid general education foundation for students who want to pursue a four-year degree in areas of study such as computer science, engineering, mathematics, the sciences, or professional programs that require a strong background in mathematics and sciences.

Established in 2009 by the Yates Mill Chapter NSDAR to support a nontraditional student who is pursuing a degree, diploma or certificate at Wake Technical Community College. NSDAR is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women’s service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America’s future through better education for children. In 2018, the name was changed to the Yates Mill DAR Sarah D. Peterson Memorial Scholarship.

Established in 2008 by The Yeargan Foundation Charitable Trust to offer financial need based scholarships to recent graduates of Garner Senior High School enrolled in an Associates degree program at Wake Technical Community College.
