The Carol Ann and Richard Theuer Scholarship is a financial need-based scholarship established in 2019 by Carol Ann Theuer and Richard Theuer to assist high-achieving, determined students in the pursuit of any degree, diploma, or certificate at Wake Tech Community College. Carol Ann Theuer was a professor for eight years in the English as a Foreign Language Department at Wake Tech before retiring. Richard Theuer is a retired scientist and was a business executive in infant food companies.

Established in 2025 to support a nursing student enrolled at Wake Technical Community College. This scholarship was established in memory of Caroline Staley and her lifelong appreciation for nurses and those in the healthcare services sector. Preference for a non-traditional student(s).

Established at Wake Tech in 2016, the Boyce Brown Scholarship honors the memory of outstanding long-time Cary Central Rotarian, Boyce Brown, who held the offices of President and District Governor and had an interest in assisting high school students in pursuing the opportunity to develop technical skills at a community college.

Established in 2022 and revised in 2026, these scholarships support students pursuing Associate in Science or Associate in Arts degrees at Wake Tech. The Cary MacGregor Rotary Club is a local business and professional membership organization focused on leveraging community and business leaders to plan and organize service projects with local, regional, and international organizations.

The Cary Woman’s Club Mature Person Scholarship was established in 2014 at Wake Technical Community College by the Cary Woman’s Club. This scholarship is awarded to a nontraditional student who is pursuing a degree at Wake Tech.

Established in 2014, the Chaine des Rotissuers Scholarship is awarded each year to two high achieving students obtaining a Culinary Arts degree at Wake Technical Community College. The Chaine des Rotissuers is an international gastronomic society that was founded in 1950, with roots dating back to the Oyeurs guild that was established by the French King Louis IX in 1248. Their principle goal is to bring professional and amateur members together to celebrate their passion for fine cuisine and wine and to aid and encourage the development of young chefs and sommeliers.

Cheryl Ward worked for several years in retail and clerical jobs, gradually saving enough money to be able to take 18 months off and retrain as a Certified Medical Assistant ( CMA ). She graduated from the Wake Tech Medical Assisting Program in 1999. She earned her CMA certification and worked in medical practices for 20 years before retiring in 2018. She was very well respected by her colleagues and co-workers. She took great pride in her profession, and supported it by serving on a committee reviewing questions for the certification exam of the American Association of Medical Assistants (

This scholarship was established in 2023 in memory of Chuck Wolfe, who served as Program Director/Instructor in the Construction Management Technology program at Wake Tech. Chuck held degrees in Architecture and Civil Engineering and was a passionate advocate for his students.

Established in 2012 by the Clark Nexsen Foundation to provide scholarships to students enrolled full or half time in the following programs at Wake Technical Community College: architectural technology, landscape architecture, engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or interior design.
