A merit scholarship established in 1996 by friends, business associates, and family of the late Hugh C. Kiger of Cary. The scholarship was endowed in 1996 by Gladys W. Kiger and her children, Martha Kiger Miercort and Hugh C. Kiger, Jr., to create an endowed scholarship for students seeking an associate degree in nursing.

The Hugh Shaw Memorial Scholarship was established in 2022 to honor the legacy of Hugh Shaw (1920-2017) by his sons, Dennis and Sam Shaw. Hugh was born in Wake County and lived there for his whole life, except for time served in the Army Air Corps in Africa and Europe during World War II. He was a founding charter member of Trinity Baptist Church. He lived a life of honesty, humility, kindness, generosity, service to others and hard work. His father was made a paraplegic by illness. From the age of 12, he cut firewood on the farm, loaded it on the mule wagon, hauled it to Raleigh and sold it

The Hummingbird Scholarship was established in 2021 by a small group of individuals who recognize the difference that a scholarship can make to a student’s future. Hummingbirds are often seen as symbols of perseverance, endurance, and adaptability. The Hummingbird Scholarship’s goal is to support a student who will use these traits on their journey towards success. It is our hope that more individuals will join us in supporting this scholarship and enable us to make a larger impact.

This scholarship endowment was created to support students enrolled in Applied and Engineering Technologies programs at Wake Technical Community College. Eligible students must show demonstrated need.

This scholarship was established in 2023 to support high achieving students studying a STEM discipline at Wake Technical Community College. ITS erve Alliance CSR originated in 2010 to represent the collective interests of small & mid-sized IT Staffing/Services companies. ITS erve CSR Alliance member, Dinesh Babu Movva, is a driving force in the growth of the sector and is co-sponsor of these scholarships. Established in 2003 by friends, family and colleagues in memory of Jack L. Batson, a member of the faculty of the Computer Information Systems Department at Wake Tech, until his death on December 21, 2002. The scholarship is awarded to an outstanding student in the Computer Programming Department that has demonstrated academic achievement.

The Jacob D. Stevens Memorial Scholarship continues the legacy of Garner Magnet High School Auto Tec teacher Jake Stevens. A Garner Senior High and Wake Tech graduate, he loved to turn wrenches, but enjoyed having a positive impact on his students more. The endowed scholarship was established 2023 by former students, friends, and family to extend his influence to more students following his death.

A longtime leader and advocate for Wake Tech, James Cox has always believed in the power of education to transform lives. Alongside his wife, Monteen, they created this scholarship to inspire and support students who are pursuing their dreams. The James and Monteen Cox Scholarship reflects their shared belief that with opportunity, engagement, and access to education, students can turn their dreams into reality.

Established by The Cary-Kildaire Rotary Club in memory of James Atkins, a former member and well-known educator from Cary, to fund two full scholarships for second-year students enrolled in associate degree programs.
