Established in 2006 by Red Hat to fund scholarships for outstanding students in the Computer Programming Department who have demonstrated significant academic achievement. Preference is given to students pursuing a degree or certificate in Open Source Technology.

The Reece Hester ASTA Strive for Excellence Scholarship honors Reece Hester’s leadership and service to the independent tire and auto repair industry. This scholarship will be awarded to Wake Tech Automotive Technologies students. Through this scholarship, ASTA hopes to identify students with exceptional talent, support the next generation of leaders in the aftermarket automotive industry, and shine a light on the important contributions that independent tire and auto service businesses bring to their communities.

This scholarship was established in 2024 in memory of Randy Rendahl. The scholarship supports two high achieving students in the Neurodiagnostic Technology program at Wake Tech.

Established in 2001 by Robert L. (Roddy) Jones of Raleigh, Chairman of Tri Properties, to establish endowed scholarships for the hotel and restaurant management program. As a director of Progress Energy Foundation, Mr. Jones designated $100,000 of the Directors Educational Contribution Plan to Wake Technical Community College Foundation for the scholarship program. Income from the endowment is used annually to fund scholarships for the hotel and restaurant management and hospitality management curriculums. Scholarship values may vary annually as a result of investment performance.

This scholarship was established to assist a talented, hard-working student pursuing a degree in the Culinary Arts program at Wake Tech Community College.

This scholarship was established in April 2020 through gifts made by family, friends, alumni and colleagues in memory of Ronald (Ronnie) Lowe, Wake Tech instructor, department head, and senior professor. Ronnie arrived at Wake Tech in September of 1991 to start the college’s Heavy Equipment and Transport Technology program after 13 years working in the industry. Ten of those years for the R. W. Moore Equipment Company in various positions [a Technician in Garner, a Service Manager in Fayetteville and a Service Manager in Garner] and three years as owner/operator of Lowe’s Landscaping and

Established by The Rotary Club of West Raleigh for a full-time second year student pursuing any associate degree program offered at Wake Tech.

This scholarship supports high achieving students pursuing critical skilled trades programs, specifically plumbing; air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration; and electrical systems technology.

The RSM Accounting Excellence Scholarship will be focused on student/s pursuing a college transfer associate’s degree in Accounting at Wake Tech. The selected students will be merit-based with respect to need.
