The mission of Mended Hearts is to provide Hope, Inspiration and Encouragement by visiting heart patients at WakeMed Hospitals. We could not complete our mission without the help of nurses who provide essential care for their patients and advise us on the patient’s condition. We have great admiration for their valuable service. This scholarship will provide assistance for Wake Tech Nursing students.

Established in 2024, the Meridian Waste Scholarship for Clean Communities will support students enrolled in Wake Tech’s Diesel and Heavy Equipment Technology program. This scholarship will help prepare students with the required industrial educational training needed for today’s workforce, such as diesel mechanics and heavy equipment operators.

The Michael and Dawa Torbert Endowed Scholarship is intended to provide need-based scholarships for students with a minimum 3.0 GPA .

Established in 2021, the Nath Foundation Scholarship will be awarded to students pursuing an associates degree in Information Technology programs at Wake Tech.

This scholarship was established in 2022 to support hard-working students in Wake Tech’s Collision Repair and Refinishing Technology AAS degree program. Students must be NC residents. National Coatings and Supplies (ncsssi.com)

Established by the Needmore Ruritan Club of Fuquay-Varina to provide two scholarships for graduates of Fuquay-Varina High School enrolled in technical or applied technologies programs

In 1962, if you were injured or sick in Eastern Wake County, the only “rescue squad” was a hearse with a first aid bag. One had to call the funeral home and ask for someone to come and transport the injured person to the hospital. Norman Dean knew there had to be a better way. After a particularly bad wreck nearby, Norman took action. The next day, he and the Chief of Police went door-to-door in Wendell to raise money to start the first rescue squad in Eastern Wake County – the all-volunteer Wendell Rescue Squad. Established in 2018, the North State Bank Scholarship will be awarded to a student obtaining an associates degree in Business Analytics, Business Administration or Accounting from Wake Technical Community College. The goal of this scholarship is to help students in the fields of finance and/or banking.

This scholarship was established in 2008 by O. Jerome Murray to offer financial need based scholarships to high school graduates of Duplin County Schools enrolled in an Associate’s degree, diploma or certificate program at Wake Technical Community College.
